Description
Hot Buttered Soul is one of the truly timeless albums in soul music history and the one that launched the career of Isaac Hayes, putting him firmly on the map as a musical force to be reckoned with and a source on musical inspiration for generations to come. Hot Buttered Soul is Hayes' second studio album, released in 1969 featuring four lengthy tracks, including the Burt Bacharach/Hal David cover "Walk On By" and an almost 19-minute long version of Jimmy Webb's "By the Time I Get to Phoenix"; both songs were edited significantly and released as a double A-side single in July 1969. This new vinyl reissue, complete with replica old-style tip-on jacket, features audio remastered from the original analog tapes by leading engineer Dave Cooley and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
