Now reissued on 10” vinyl, the Jutta Hipp Quintet’s New Faces – New Sounds From Germany was originally recorded in Frankfurt, Germany and released on the Blue Note label in April of 1954. Jutta Hipp (piano) leads an all-German line-up of Emil Mangelsdorff (alto saxophone), Joki Freund (tenor saxophone), Hans Kresse (bass) and Karl Sanner (drums) on an 8-track set consisting of mostly American standards and her lone original "Mon Petit."
