A 26-track collection of newly discovered live and studio recordings from 1949-1958 featuring Wes Montgomery on guitar. Recordings include a complete never-before-released 1955 Epic Records session produced by Quincy Jones.
The moments are priceless; they outweigh the recording quality which in some cases was compromised. This is a mostly historical document of early Wes Montgomery and contains lower-fidelity recordings. Some of them are personal, almost home recordings of live-club performances. As much as possible was done to preserve the sound quality, limited as it was, through the talents of veteran mastering engineer Bernie Grundman and the skill of RTI in pressing.
The 3 LP set comes in a hand-numbered slipcase with an 8-panel booklet that includes never-before-published photos, along with notes by Grammy Award-winning, jazz historian, Ashley Kahn, legendary producer, Quincy Jones, guitarist Pete Townshend of The Who & others.
