Description
• 180-GRAM CRYSTAL CLEAR VINYL
• THE COMPLETE ALBUM
• 5 STARS DOWN BEAT
Louis Armstrong's career began nearly 15 years before Ella Fitzgerald's. In fact, Louis was one of Ella's first musical idols. By the early forties, Ella was already a well-known star. Although Ella and Louis recorded previously a number of singles together, their most important achievement as a duet were the three LPs they made between 1956 and 1957 for jazz producer Norman Granz.
The first one was Ella & Louis, presented here in its entirety. They are backed by the Oscar Peterson Trio, featuring Herb Ellis and Ray Brown, with the addition of drummer Buddy Rich. Some of the most fascinating jazz music ever produced.
