LP/180 gram heavyweight record
This album, recorded and released as the band's second album by Capitol Records in 1967, is now available on 180g heavyweight LP.
This album stands in stark contrast to Ella Fitzgerald's Swinging Christmas album, released for Verve in the early 1960s, which focused exclusively on traditional hymns. Working with arrangers Robert Black and Grace Price, and conductor Ralph Carmichael and his orchestra, Fitzgerald delved into classics such as "The Stars Are Glorious," "The Son of God Is Glorious," "Joy to the World," and "Glory to the Heavens." While these songs are familiar to most, Ella's artistry allows her to present them in a fresh light while preserving their essential qualities.
