Description
Captured on April 26, 1977, for the iconic BBC program The Old Grey Whistle Test, this live recording finds Eric Clapton at a critical professional and personal crossroads. Set just weeks before the studio sessions for his multi-platinum masterpiece Slowhand, the performance offers a raw, high-energy preview of that era’s signature "laid-back" blues-rock sound.
This release, part of Second Records' "Classic Live Radio Broadcast Collection," highlights Clapton’s powerhouse mid-70s touring band—featuring the legendary rhythm section of Carl Radle (bass) and Jamie Oldaker (drums), alongside keyboardist Dick Sims. The setlist bridges his past and then-future, featuring a rare televised performance of the Cream classic "Badge" alongside his definitive covers of Bob Marley and Bob Dylan.
