Description
Ballaké Sissoko, from the Republic of Mali in West Africa, is a 21-string kora player and a member of the 3MA band. Besides his own musical performances, he has collaborated with many world-renowned musicians, including Taj Mahal and fellow kora player Toumani Diabate. His collaboration with Italian musician Ludovico Eodi began in 2003.
This album, "Diario Mali," uses piano and plucked kora to create Renaissance harmonies, blues echoes, and Caribbean rhythms through two musical languages and sounds. Within the free-flowing melodies, two simple sound waves form a rich musical journey. The 2020 re-release of this album once again echoes the ingenious beauty of music transcending borders. A new vinyl version will be released at the end of 2023 as a thank you to fans.
