Saxophonist Melissa Aldana joins Blue Note with her debut album, 12 Stars, which grapples with concepts of childrearing, familial forgiveness, acceptance, and self-love, and was inspired by her interest in tarot. The Brooklyn-based composer from Santiago, Chile, has garnered international recognition for her visionary work as a bandleader and meditative interpretation of language and vocabulary.
