2LP "Transparent" Colored with Japanese Obi Limited Edition
Tranquilizer is the eleventh studio album by Oneohtrix Point Never (OPN), released on 21 November 2025 via Warp Records. A dense 58-minute project, it serves as a "love letter to a flimsier, more plastic era," blending plunderphonics with ambient and IDM to explore the precarity of digital memory.
The album was sparked by Daniel Lopatin’s discovery that a massive 400GB archive of 1990s sample CDs had vanished from the Internet Archive due to DMCA issues. Seizing the material once it resurfaced, he used these "commercial audio construction kits" to create a "techno historiography".
