An essential figure in the fusion between jazz and bossa nova, pianist and composer Sérgio Mende (1941-2024) recorded over 55 releases under his own name. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2012 for "Real in Rio" from the animated film Rio. This release presents the complete original album Você Ainda No Ouviu Nada, released in the United States as The Beat of Brazil.
