Recorded during the autumn of 1996, Fu Yan stands as the 10th and final full-length Cantonese studio album by Mandopop icon Faye Wong. Originally shelved due to contract transitions and her pregnancy, its tracks were fragmented across various EPs and compilations for nearly two decades. In 2015, dynamic fan intervention and copyright acquisition finally allowed these recordings to coalesce into their intended, singular artistic vision.
Produced by longtime collaborator Alvin Leong, Fu Yan serves as a seamless sonic continuation of the mesmerizing Trip-Hop and hazy Dream Pop aesthetics established in her previous landmark album, Di-Dar. Legendary lyricist Albert Leung (Lin Xi) penned every single track on the record, spinning stories of detachment, romantic disillusionment, and modern apathy. Backed by evocative arrangements from Adrian Chan and Zhang Yadong, Faye Wong alternates effortlessly between airy whispers and cold, piercing deliveries.
This high-quality Japanese limited-edition vinyl pressing restores the definitive, intended tracklist sequencing. The visual presentation is anchored by stunning, archival photography shot by renowned Japanese photographer Meisa Fujishiro for Switch magazine in 1997. 《敷衍》錄製於 1996 年秋季，是華語天后王菲的第十張、亦是最後一張全粵語錄音室專輯。當年因合約期滿與王菲懷孕等緣故，新藝寶唱片未能將其作為獨立專輯推出，而是將曲目拆散於《玩具》EP、《自便》EP 及多張精選輯中發表。直到 2015 年，在資深樂迷的版權購置與多方奔走下，這張塵封近 20 年的音樂拼圖才得以首度以完整專輯的姿態問世。
本張專輯由金牌監製梁榮駿操刀，音樂風格完美延續了前作《Di-Dar》的迷離 Trip-Hop（神遊舞曲）與幽暗 Dream Pop（夢幻流行）美學。全碟 10 首歌曲歌詞均由詞神林夕一手包辦，文字間充斥著冷冽、百無聊賴卻又暗潮洶湧的末世情感。搭配 Adrian Chan、張亞東等大師的編曲，王菲遊刃有餘地用游離、慵懶且極具穿透力的聲線，勾勒出都市男女的感情迷津。
