Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time — Rated 309/500!
This 50th anniversary edition of Willy And The Poor Boys, Creedence Clearwater Revival's fourth studio album, is pressed on 180-gram vinyl mastered at half-speed for optimum audio quality by award-winning engineer Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios in London. The release marks the first time the album has been available as a half-speed master individually; it was previously only part of CCR's 7LP Studio Album Collections box set. This 180-gram LP comes housed in a handsome tip-on jacket replicating the packaging of the original pressing.
Willy And The Poor Boys was released just three months after Green River, in November 1969, to great critical and commercial approval. It featured the powerful anti-Vietnam message song "Fortunate Son" as well as familiar Creedence staples such as "Down On The Corner," "It Came Out Of The Sky" and "Midnight Special." The LP reached No. 3 on the Billboard album chart.
