Description
Morning Sun is Judy Blank's second album. The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by Chris Taylor, who previously worked on albums by Elle King and Miranda Lambert. On Morning Sun we hear an increasingly mature young lady who knows how to sing the smallest things in a big way with a voice that instantly gives you goosebumps.
After her debut album When The Storm Hits from 2014, Judy fell into writer's block, but fortunately she has completely rediscovered songwriting in country capital Nashville! On Morning Sun we find a sultry collection of Americana songs, all of which impress. The highlight for me is the swinging I Got A Man, together with the beautiful Sweet Love. Judy also shows a fine example of songwriting in Who've You Been Loving Lately, where she manages to build a beautiful piece of music in 5 and a half minutes, in which many layers can be discovered. With this album under her belt, Judy has become an indispensable part of the Dutch music landscape and, as far as I am concerned, it is time to break through internationally!
