The Stone Roses is the debut studio album by English rock band the Stone Roses. It was recorded mostly at Battery Studios in London with producer John Leckie from June 1988 to February 1989 and released in May of that year by Silvertone Records. The Stone Roses has sold over 4 million copies worldwide, according to the 2006 book covering the album for the 33⅓ music series.
The album was a breakthrough success for the band and garnered critical acclaim, with many critics regarding it as one of the greatest British albums ever recorded. It includes the singles 'Made of Stone', 'She Bangs the Drums' and 'I Wanna Be Adored'.
